There were four cylinder 8V 1.1 and 1.4 K-series engines produced, albeit not in 75/ZT

Also, the attached picture is wrong in terms of engine codes, P55 and P56 saying the same thing. And mine it’s an auto with code P56.

Anyway, asuming this information, if I chose my car being a 25K4F or KV6 when ordering parts online, will that be ok? Do they really mean the same thing?

My 75 was manufactured probably in the last batch of 2005, being registered in 2007

Just a little bit more info for you.
You could not have 25K6F. Position 4 ( means valves per cylinder ) This can only be one digit. So it is 4. This differs from other K Series engines that may be 14K2F for instance. ( 8 valve engine ) This was Powertrains numbering protocol.

Maybe as well I should explain what the next 3 digits mean.
P55
P56 for example.

K Series engines were not actually built in the Longbridge factory. They were built just down the road at Powertrain. They did NOT go up to assembly line Cab B for instance as just an engine. Before they left Powertrain they had the Gearbox and all other ancillary bolt on items like A/C compressor, starter motor, alternator etc bolted on so it then became a complete power unit assembly. So those letters P55 actually mean ( ROVER 75, 2.5, MAN, ACON, PENCIL COILS ) while P56 means ( ROVER 75, 2.5, AUTO, ACON, PENCIL COILS)

It told the assembly line which power unit assembly configuration was assembled for what vehicle variant.

If the assembly code was P58 that would have meant ( ZT, 2.5, MAN, ACON, 190PS +50DEG, PENCIL COILS )

May also be worth noting there are some errors in that screen shot above. That is really old data that does not seem to have ever been corrected.

Hope this helps some.
