I am beginning to think an ECU fault as the car behaves normally when the engine is fired up. It is when the engine is stopped and the car is locked - the wipers come on and sometimes the indicators/alarm flashes at the same time.

This is beyond me, mainly time-wise. I will need to find someone who can remedy this.

I know there was heavy rain yesterday but I have had the ECU out and the void in which it sits is dry as a bone and clean with no debris or leaves sitting in there.

Are the carpets dry? Look up behind dash on drivers side and see if EWS looks wet that's my guess if lucky you can remove it and dry it out

It’s water on the Bus line somewhere, you need to find the connector that contains all the red and white wires with the yellow band around them, remove one wire at a time from this block and see which one cures the fault.

All you have to do then is trace where that particular wire goes and you will find the source of the fault.

Here you go Paul; MGMarc's guide to finding K-bus faults. You'll find the connector above the lighting switch module. It's grey and has twenty ports.

Thanks to all on here who have helped. I can only think now it must be moisture seeping in from somewhere. It was a dry day and evening yesterday and all now seems to be back to normal.

I will need to try and track down the problem as it is only going to happen again when we have the next monsoon. No sign of any damp whatsoever around the LSM or carpet below??
