Pre Facelift Bumper Lower Centre Grill Query
Started retro-fitting fog lights. At the same time was going to replace said grill, that I thought was missing, with a new one but it did not seem to want to fit
What I have at the moment in the centre is just wire as can be seen in the photo. Was that ever the case? But at the base you can see a not so black now strip running between fog light fixings. This may be stopping the new grill fitting? Would that old strip just come out? New grill I'm trying to fit is at bottom of photo (shown upside down I'm afraid). Any ideas welcome. Thanks |

Mine has both,
The chrome is on the front of the black plastic shown in your pic, the mesh is behind that. Last edited by suzublu; 16th October 2017 at 14:12.. |

Thanks for prompt response, and I may be being dim but it is not clear to me if the existing strip I have is sitting below the centre grill on your car; on the face of it it looks like its not so I will have to remove it to put the new one in ?

Just had a closer look at mine & it would appear that the plastic grill lower part replaces the plastic you have fitted, so I would assume it needs removing

You will need to remove your front bumper to get at the central grille.
The metal grille is held onto the plastic part as shown in your photo by melting the plastic lugs around the metal mesh part. On my car I’ve substituted the black metal grille with stainless mesh. This is matched with stainless mesh on the main upper grille. |
