Tourer CDTi Exhaust
The back box on me exhaust is on it's way out and needs replacing.
I've seen on the net that instead of getting the whole rear section of exhaust you can get just the back box with a shorter length of pipe, This would mean cutting the existing exhaust to length then attaching the new box to it. Has any members gone down this route? Is it advisable or is it best to go for longer pipe version? Just to confirm I'm talking about a 2003 CDTi tourer. Any input will be gratefully received.

I got a local exhaust outfit to make me a back box. They just made it up, cut and welded in to suit.
No difference to the noise from original exhaust, which is a relief. For some reason I thought they were going to do it in stainless, but alas it is not.😞 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I put a saloon box on my ZT-T. I cut off the tail pipes on the original and welded them onto the replacement box to extend it. The tail pipes didn't protrude as far as the originals but did work well.

I have mg ztt cdti and cut off the old backbox with the downward tailpioes and fitted 1.8 turbo one with straight tailpipes it bolted straight on,there are plenty of exhaust connectors and pipe sections on e bay if you have a 75 you won't have to worry about lengths as you won't have to line it up with cut out like MGs

Put an Xpower V6 stainless silencer on my diesel ZTT, found it on eBay and got it sent to me by another member, (planenut).
Fitted a treat and is no louder than the original......has a nice low burble on tick over too
