I'm not sure it'll be as good as foam at sealing around those ribs on the 3 cable sheaths.

Judging by the amount of dried mud I found in the end of the tube, water & muck seem to collect on/in the metal cable cover (WJK100176 - no 16 here) and run along it into the mouth of the tube. Running two beads of clear silicone under the top & bottom edges of the cover might stop a lot of this.

M5 stainless rivet nuts (12 of them) now installed in the wheel arches. I used this tool which worked very well, although a bit tricky on some due to lack of spanner room.

Steve - did you use threadlock on these M5 bolts?

Rubber washers should arrive tomorrow.

Hi Simon.
That looks a very neat job, I would not use of any threadlock as you may have to remove them again some time, it will be nice to see it once the arch liner and duct protection piece is back in place.

Thanks Steve.

Ok, I'll leave out the threadlock.

Will post some more pics once the duct is back on (just about to sort out the end of the tube) and then the liner back on .... oh, and that black plastic tank* under the fuel filler neck (I unbolted it to get behind all the pipes, so it's dangling on the floor at the moment!).

* Pressure tank? vapour tank?

There are two of these black plastic 3-way clips in the RH rear wheel arch - #18 here.

This pic shows the screw end of one of them behind the rubber damper sleeve but I can't remember where the other one goes. Has anyone got a pic of their RH rear wheel arch with the liner off?

No clues here.

UPDATE

I found a pic and the other 3-way clip goes on right - it's secured by the screw nearest the entry of the metal tube.
