Sounds like she would have loved my neighbours new lift. My neighbour is confined to a wheelchair and got a new lift installed recently. We live in the middle of 3 terrace house and my neighbour has a lift put on the adjoining wall!. We couldn't say much about the old one because it was there when my wife bought the house and we have kids so it's a bit of give and take. But her new lift is a LOT louder, to the extent it made you jump out of your skin when it started. What made matters worse was they attached the motor to the wall to so we have what sounded like a pneumatic drill going off 4-5 times a day! needless to say we weren't happy. The company eventually came back and moved the motor to a rubber mounted plate on the floor.
do you have wooden/laminate flooring? a friend of mine lives in flats that aren't allowed to have laminate flooring down due to noise but the flat above him is rented so it's pot luck for him as to how much noise the current tennant makes. Last edited by bubs; 28th February 2013 at 19:28.. |
