Default Wow - what a difference a new lower engine mounting makes

Wow, replaced the lower engine mounting on my Rover 75, 2.5 litre engine today. Amazing difference! Quieter engine, smoother gear changes, less vibration into the cabin. I can't believe the difference. Of course the condition of the mount is appalling, but even so, am still amazed!

Hi John.
What mount did you replace it with, and does the old one have a letter P stamped on it ?

Replaced with one from Ebay. Main title was: LOWER ENGINE MOUNT FITS ROVER 75 1.8 RJ, 2.0, 2.5 V6 RJ, KKH101372, KKH101383

Can't find a letter P anywhere on the old one.

If it was the original and there is no reason why it should not be, then it would have looked like this below.

I presume you have added one these in it's place, which I tried out in 2012

Also in 2013 along side the poly bush

I've just fitted a new lower engine mount and can confirm what a difference it makes to the smooth running of my CDTi.

I'd had a awful vibration at about 1800rpm which I had thought was coming from the exhaust but all is now quiet and back to normal

I fitted one of the ebay mounts, £18 delivered.

I'm changing mine this weekend.

I took the advice and checked mine, and yes it is split in several places.

These Chinese mounts seem to do the job at a decent price - they're not ideal, but certainly passable.

I believe the one on my last ZT-T CDTi Auto will be sitting at around 130,000 miles covered so far.
