I wish they would be as stringent on other crimes. Instead of giving out those pointless "cautions".

It doesn't surprise me one little bit that its a bell end from West Mercia Police that came up with this.
If you travel down the A449 between Kidderminster and Worcester on most days you will see several sets of speed cameras and usually several speed camera vans. I've been done once for 7mph over resulting in 3 points and have had to sit a speed awareness course on an other. That one was for a mere 6 mph over at 3.40 in the morning when i was going to work The following morning most of West Mercia traffic police were enjoying coffee and doughnuts at the petrol station near Hartlebury Industrial Estate. |

I concur the local shop got broken into evidence everywhere including cctv have the brought them to justice have they heck its easier to hit the working person on minimum wage going to work travelling at 31mph on a road that was 60mph a few years ago, obviously the police can't be hitting there targets because most people now drive within or very close to the speed limits if there are accidents on roads near us it always through the night not when people are travelling to work so why do they feel the need to target the people who are trying to earn a living easy revenue springs to mind |

What gets me is the ‘speed kills’ statements that the authorities keep harping on about.
They don’t look further that speed, what about defective vehicles, driving without due care, etc etc.

And the speed shown on a car dashboard is accurate? No calibration of the equipment we use to see our speed.
My dash says 70mph and the digital display says 67mph. At least I can’t get caught for speeding with that discrepancy.

Don't worry, they can't afford to keep most of their speed cameras calibrated, so there's no way they can afford more precise, less challengeable equipment. Cop car came past me at about 85 on the M6 the other day - no blue lights or sirens. Glad I was only doing 75 in my 75!
