Default Intermittant gearshift woes.

Hi, anyone have any ideas? It is intermittantly hard to get into first from stationary. You have to wiggle the gearstick or double the clutch. The pedal feels good, I did think the clutch was dragging but I'm not so sure now. I started to think it was the actuall mechanism under the gearstick/cables, but as you do, (or is it just me,) I'm starting to wonder if it could be an internal box problem.

I've tried that, it still doesn't feel quite right. Maybe it is, I know its the most likely candidate. It is perfect about 60% of the time.

Is this when the engine is warm or just when cold? I notice that when cold the gearbox is much harder to shift gears - especially first.

More noticable when the engine is warm/hot. When I was parked on the M5 last week it was particularly eyebrows raised.

Like you my first thoughts could be the linkages and connectors on the 'box and on the gearstick. Other than that maybe an oil change in the 'box to see if that sorts it?

I did think that, It's worth a try. I don't really want to get lumbered with this cost, I'd not even done a 1000 miles when this all this started. The dealer said, that all they'll do is pay for a clutch kit, cos they are only £60......yeah right. Oh yeah, you'll have to fit it yourself.
