Mk1 CDT won't start update

Update / looking for advice again. After previous post I have finally taken this further. I have put more fuel in tank so it's now half full. Both fuel pumps run with ignition on, stop after 30secs or so as they should. The engine turns over fine but won't start. Tachometer flickers correctly. With Easy start via EGR the engine fires but then dies. So it looks like a fuel starvation issue - but I am not sure if due to a fuel system or electronic cause. The car was running perfectly until laid up around November and during lay up battery was disconnected. It has done 90 000 miles only (though as outlined in previous post odometer now reading 999 999 for some reason). Any advice on where to look next gratefully received. Thanks!

If it is the pump, what worked for me when I had this
Issue was once I put more fuel in (about half a tank) I had to
Prime the pump several times before it fired up.
I put key in position two until I can hear the pump
Prime and left it like this for 1-2 minutes and repeated this process around 5-6 times. Then the engine fired up. Prior to this, it would not fire up.

Does the oil light come on with key to position II as it should before you crank the engine over?

Yes it does Mike. I know there's a reason you asked that but not sure what is is!

If it doesn't light up it points to a fault within the ECM. Try contacting Marinabrian as I'm sure he would check the ECM over if you posted it to him.

As Colvert mentioned, a faulty cam sensor would also prevent the engine from starting, as would a lack of HP fuel pressure. A sniff of easy start can help with the HP fuel pressure as the engine driven HP pump will turn a bit faster allowing it to get to the required pressure, but I see you have already tried that.

Just be wary when using TOAF. Make a backup of all modules before you do anything else.
However, as it’s a possibility that your ECM may have lost its pairing with the LCM / immobiliser, I don’t know if that can be easily fixed on TOAF without virginising the eeprom chip in the LCM.
Someone better qualified than me may be able to advise.
