RJ passed away....blown turbo
Sadly my beloved RJ has met a sad demise. Due to age and health reasons, i can't fix it and it would be too expensive to pay someone else. It's an 02 Connoisseur SE Highline Dark Blue metallic, biege leather, BMW 2ltr Diesel, top spec and I have fitted BMW monitor and Hybrid TV module. CD changer (which I still have) replaced by Alpine Ipod system with track display. Good tyres and union alloys. Currently MOt'd.
There are a host of other bits that I have bought in the earlier years and not fitted, (Bluetooth kit, the clock by the dutch gentleman, the chrome door handle inserts, spare alloys, interior drivers door panel, mats etc) I'm in NE Lancs. Would any member would like to make an offer before I start to remove the easier bits and put them on the bay? Regards John

doesnt removing the dipstick with the engine running prove the same Brian? (by spitting oil out - might save a bit of effort if not fit enough)

Or run the engine and pull the dipstick out, if it resembles Vesuvius then its a definite blocked PCV.

Ok then, with the engine idling, slowly release the oil filler cap and listen for an audible hiss
This way you don't risk filling the alternator with black engine oil, from the dipstick Krakatoa Brian |

RJ
Thanks for the advice gentlemen. It was the RAC who diagnosed the "Turbo". My stepson was using it but it did sound pretty terminal when they brought it home. I'll ask my local garage to come and have a look at it after the holidays and keep you posted.
Many thanks John

Even if it is the turbo they are usually pretty much bulletproof, so a good second hand one can be had for less than fifty quid.
