Lost Lives
I am not sure this will be on the mainland or not, but imagine it will be on iPlayer though.
Lost Lives started as a reference project for journalists in the late 80s, once their goal was complete they decided to continue into what is essentially the definitive reference of all the people who lost their lives in the Troubles. It has been out of print for many years, but I have been lucky enough to have been gifted a copy as a christmas gift last year. A book I have used occasionally for my work, listing each name, who they 'belonged to', or if a civilian etc. how they died and where, along with a brief description of the circumstances. As part of my work, I have had a lot of the coroners' and police reports pass my desk, not to mention the autopsies too. Last year it was released as a 'movie' and is on at 9pm on BBC1 (in NI at least). The trailers seem to be as poignant as the book. It should be worth watching and hopefully make the youth of today aware of the atrocities that occurred here, just one generation before them. Hopefully let them see the terror fear and pain that is behind some of the songs and chants they so blindly sing. Google books excerpt

Try the iPlayer Brian, under 'Categories' there should be Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales (although that will just be sheep ), then arts etc. I think it will be on there once it has broadcast. Also worth looking at whilst there, is the 'Spotlight' programs, 50 years of the troubles.

Have a copy from new when it was first published. Sad times poignantly marked. It's also sad to think that since it was published there needs to be a large updated section added and unfortunately we haven't got to the stage here where we can be sure we wont need more pages.
