Fixed the tourer boot cover thing so that it retracts.
Tried to work out why the washers don’t work. Tried to work out why the steering wheel stereo controls don’t work.

After many years of bodge jobs and moaning about my stainless steel exhaust never been fixed properly, I went to Power Flow Exhausts in Slough and they have fixed it once and for all.
Also got done recently a pair of lower wish bone suspension arms courtesy of DMGRS was fitted. Now all is well until she decides to throw a timmy. https://www.powerflowexhausts.co.uk/Powerflow-Slough

Cleaned the ignition barrel with brake cleaner after the key was proving difficult to insert, seems to have worked as the key now goes in much easier.

Washed it , fitted some new door pillar trims , fitted a blue clock , retrieved a CD from behind the stereo, cleaned the seats and hoovered the inside.
Started dyeing the new steering wheel black.(dyed fingers as well....must wear gloves) Stan

Further investigations on why the windscreen washers don’t work.
Firstly I opened the bonnet and removed the sound deadening insulation stuff, only loosing one plastic clip thingy. Then I disconnected the T and checked that was flowing. Then using a bicycle pump, connected to each jet, blew them through. Then back blew the line from the washer fluid bottle until I got lots of bubbles in the tank. Next I took the wheel off and swore at the corroded bolts holding the wheel arch liner, a bit of brute force and ignorance later and I can get to the washer fluid bottle. Where I found some broken wiring to what I am assuming is a level sensor, the pump ( with connector) and another spare connector. Pump out and the rubber filter/grommet is clean. There is 12v at the pump connector when the stalk is pulled but the pump doesn’t work. Attached, hopefully, are photos of the pump and spare connector, the pump connector and the broken wires, and the broken connector.

Stripped the washer pump motor down.
I think I have found out the problem.
