Thanks Blink. I will check carefully once I get the car back. If this is the same part, I will get a new one from Rimmers. No point in messing around with a secondhand part as it is likely to be as crusty as mine, especially on a broken car.

If it helps to confirm that DCD107701PMA is the right part, the new one I've got here is 134 cm long (near as heck) - as measured along the metal spine. The rubber strip that covers the spine is 2.5cm wide.

#6 in the main diagram here - https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID002000. If you buy one, make sure that all 8 clips* have got their pins (one of mine hasn't ).

* 10 clips altogether - the far left & far right clips don't have pins. The 3rd left & 3rd right clips have white rubber inserts.

Sorry, my memory is playing tricks. It is the section of seal above the metal strip. I am told this is NLA. Has anyone on here managed to work something to improve this. What has peeled up seems to be a T shaped seal. If I could obtain something similar I could remove the crusty sections and perhaps let in a new section and make a neat cut line at each end of the bootlid?

That's the rear window trim in your picture (where it joins at the lower centre, with the rubber edging peeling away - they all do that!), not the Finisher assembly-backlight lower - DCD107701PMA (black flap). The trim (in two parts) is available from Rimmers at north of £130...

It's called the Finisher Assembly-Backlight Side - Bright - ZUA000870

Edit: The word 'side' is a bit confusing here - in English it actually means rear windscreen side trim. The two sides (LH and RH) used to be available separately and had their own separate part numbers (DCD102672MMM and DCD102662MMM) - ZUA000870 is really a kit containing both of them.

Because their trims don't have the chrome effect strip ZT cars had a different set of numbers again - DCD000020PMA and DCD000030PMA. They're 2 & 3 here.

Thanks for the replies. I have just removed the lower tirm/flap piece, and un-clipped the lower section of the finisher. Someone has previously run some black silicon pretty much all the way along. I'll remove all the silicone and run some creeping crack around the clips going through the body I think.

Thanks Blink, that is around £145 with VAT and postage. Would be nice, but I can't justify the cost of that at present. I will see if I can obtain a short length of plastic seal, similar T profile and see if I can cut and join instead.

Here's a few pics off the car that might help.

The first group shows various parts of a new DCD107701PMA.

The second group shows various parts of a new side trim kit ZUA000870.

Go to a breakers and get one. Should be able to remove one without damaging it but be careful when transporting, it is quite fragile.

Ron, I've been trying to do this, but am I mistaken in thinking that the ones at the bottom corner of each side are inside a double skin...?
