I was talking to a chap in his eighties yesterday and he thinks we should not have any form of lockdown or isolation and just let nature take it's course.

I have to say that this is not, on the face of it, a daft idea.

Default I'm just going to look.

I always have enough to open my own shop, I have a friend that gets me bin bags full of soups from the Heinz shop and my freezer is rarely empty of other food. I'm going out for milk soon and to get some beer stock in for the coming lockdown, that is going to happen and very soon if my info is correct. I've been rubbing alcohol gel into my hands so much I'm getting drunk from outside in. It can't hurt to have additional alcohol on the inside to be sure though can it?

I suggest that people buy a few bags of spuds and other things like carrots, it's worth reminding people that we can easily get depleted of essential vitamins and so, get a pot of multi vitamins to help keep your bodies healthy alongside your food intake, the food intake might not be what we normally have for good health in a lockdown.

On Monday I was working with a small group of 6 Primary 4 kids and they mentioned the shops. One of them said....

'Don't know what the fuss about toilet paper is all about. You just take the shower head and squirt it up your bottom....'

After the five kids and myself stopped laughing..... He has a point....

I was in the supermarket today picking up some stuff for dinner, the lady at the checkout was telling me they had several customers buying several trolleys of food and a couple of them had spent over £1000. The shop manager had stepped in and told them they could not buy that much in one go.

What is wrong with these people?

If you want milk, toilet and kitchen rolls, dry foods such as noodles/pasta and some tinned foods, don't bother with the supermarkets as they seem to always be out of stock.

Instead, go straight to your Home Bargains store, or B&M discount home stores, they seem to be well stocked and there are currently no restrictions either. I guess most folk hit the supermarkets for these products and don't realise these discount home stores also sell food products.

My two local stores had loads of the above, and the stores were also quiet.

Keep it to yourselves, don't tell everybody.

The problem with letting it take it's course is millions will be in hospital, so people who fall down and break a bone, have heart attacks and strokes, will not get treated. And at the same time the numbers of doctors and nurses will reduce as they get ill and might need ventilators too.
This is why we are self isolating and keeping our distance, to reduce the pressure on the NHS
