ZTT centre rear seatbelt

I have an upcoming MOT and checking the car today I have found that the centre seat belt in the rear of my ZTT will not pull out, how do I gain access to the mechanism? It appears to be within the seat is this correct?

Try dropping and raising the seat a few times Ian.

You don’t want to be going inside the seat, it’s a horrible task.

OK Mate will give it a go, the seats have been folded flat for about 6 months so that may be the problem.

Still no luck with this ****** centre rear seat belt, I've read of people just cutting them out and removing them is this legal for an MOT..

Don't cut it Ian, if you are pushed for time unbolt the belt where it attached to the floorpan under the seat cushion, then fold it over the top of the seat and tuck it down between the seat and the loadspace cover.


Then make sure the one of the twin buckles is tucked away under the cushion, this makes it look as though there only two seat belts fitted in the back.


I did this a couple of years ago as I only discovered the problem a hour before the MOT, I seem to recall there was a little plastic button missing from the belt webbing which had allowed the belt to retract too far.


My memory isn't what it once was, I can't remember how I fixed the problem now

That seems be the problem with mine, the plastic clip has the top missing.

Just an update.
Back to the car this morning a bit of fiddling with the belt and up it pops all fixed with a plastic screw cap glued in place to stop the belt retracting too far again.
