Default Ceramic Heater

Got my eye on a heater for the car, really looks a great idea for the frosty mornings. It plugs into the cig lighter socket......BUT.........will this not put a mighty strain on the battery/alternator thats just started a cold car up?, I'm assuming it would need alot of juice to heat up??. Anyone got a clue about these or anyone got one and would suggest getting one?

I used to have one in a VW camper because they didn't have any heating as such (just a bit from heat exchangers on the exhaust pipe). They are about as warm as putting your hand a few inches above a cup of tea!
Mind you, in the VW you were grateful of any heat in the winter.
