write off due to no silly part
No matter what it is, vehicle, washing machine, DVD player etc I find it very frustrating, to have to write it off because a silly cheap part is no longer available.
I have a brand new scalextric car, no longer available in the shops as it was deleted a few years ago that's now useless due to the concentric gear having split. A tuppeny-ha'penny item! I have to hope that Hornby either make a run of spares or in some form release a car that uses this axle/gear. macafee2 |

A friend has a Renault awaiting a part, Renault no longer make this part, no aftermarket parts and all the used ones seem to have the same fault. The part is a circuit board that controls the warning lights on the dash and without it the car wont pass an MOT. Its not even a matter of soldering a piece on as there a processor built into the board and this fails. How many cars go to scrap because of a faulty resistor or diode causing a warning light to be on or not work when it should. Such a waste. |

Is it something that could be 3D printed?
