I took my 94 year old (soon to be 95) mum for a doctor's appointment and showed her what happens when the power VIS motor kicks in. She went very quiet for a moment and said "That reminds me of your father's Rover V8 and I used to tell him to slow down too!" There's nothing wrong with her memory!

MOT for another year; no advisories
(I was, however, out in the dark and rain last evening changing some bulbs in the rear lights that were fine until the night before the test)

Removed the back box ready for fitting later today, prepared the area above the back box and coated it with black waxyol spray.
I manged to get an extra year out of the original back box last year but with the MOT due in April I decided it was time to add a new one. A few photo below. Car on four ramps. 1 Old back box 2 Cutting through the exhaust pipe. 3 4 Strap removed so the back box can be freed from the car. 5 Rear box off the car. 6 You can see how it as started to blow a little. 7 Then when I tested it with a screw driver the holes became larger. 8 9 The side were solid. 10 11 12 Coated over with Black Underbody Seal Aerosol With Waxoyl 600ml Hammerite Underseal 13 New hanger fitted ready for the new back box tomorrow. 14

Fitted my Christmas present of Heko wind deflectors, for once a nice easy job and they do reduce wind noise😀 which is something that has always irritated me with these cars.

I had my car retested in August so that I can get it ready for MOT during the summer months. Much better than crawling around underneath in the winter months. A good fettle in July/August usually gets me through the winter months with no problems.
