Default Well, I've done it.............

Decided to get rid of the Rover. Although it's staying in the family (son-in-law's having it), so I'll still be lurking - and borrowing the car as it will retain the towbar!!.

I've decided to chase my lost youth, and have bought a diesel Saab Convertible. Peuk green in colour. Actually it's lime yellow, but I think my description is more correct.

So thanks to everyone on here, for all the money-saving and headache-solving help!!!

Looks like I'll have to start a Saab club/forum, the OC seems to be more interested in past models.

So if we see an old guy with the roof down even in the coldest weather it will be you!
After 3,500 posts we will miss you.

That's perfectly true!!!!

But I have to admit, I looked at a number of 75 diesels, but I didn't see one I'd swap with mine, mileage apart, so I thought I'd have a complete change.

Yes, it's Turbo diesel, and yes, it'll be an old bloke driving with the top down.

Thanks for the good wishes, but I'll still be here. Promise. And threat.

Malcolm

good to hear its a turbo diesel , great cars, you will be very happy with it.. what i find great with saab, is that they still test models that are over 5 years old , too see what problems may happen , they leave them out in -20 for a month and then see whats working and whats not !

Fair point.

Would have been a stunning car, shame this was only ever a design study!

Still, I think a SAAB is a decent choice and I hope it gives you great service.

Derek

Interesting colour choice Malcolm?

Best of luck with your new purchase Malcolm. I've always quite liked the series/shape of Saab you've decided to go for, and the colour I quite like

As said above - always welcome here no matter what car you have.
