Default KV6 Timing belt change

Hi all

I'm in the process of changing my primary timing belt. After fitting the new idler and tensioner pulley, I have now fitted the new primary belt, and the tensioner. I have removed the timing tools so everything is clear. The timing marks are spot on.

Haynes says to refit the crank pulley and turn the engine through a complete cycle to make sure the timing marks end up in the same place.

Fitted the crankshaft pulley, but it doesn't matter how much I pull on it, I can't get the engine to turn over. I have all the plugs out, so no compression issue.

What am I missing ? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow what a day that was. KWIL must have posted the response just after I had sent my realisation message. Yes there was a bit of bottom clenching going on at that point, but removed the timing pin and it rotated fine.

I am completing the build today, and will try the car to see if it srill works. I'll then do a post about my experience.

thanks for the responses.

Oh I'm sorry, but that did make me laugh as it's exactly the sort of thing I'd do

I have a "Remove Before Flight" tag I attach to my locking pin.
By the time I get everything reassembled I am pretty much done in so I find a reminder helpful.

Glad you got it sorted!
