All of the older cars that are being kept on the road with an apparent abundance of spares availability will have gone through this at some point. I remember at the classics show at the NEC last year my old man saw some bits for a Triumph Herald /Vitesse on autojumble stalls and commented that they were like Hens teeth 25-30 years ago, (can't remember which part it was now.) now they're dead easy to get. Much of this is down to having enough enthusiasts to keep up demand for parts and enough people like Matt (DMGRS) happy to source or have parts manufactured to meet that demand. There will always be a lag between parts from OEM becoming scarce and having them re-manufactured. Until the OEM supplies dry up there's not enough demand to justify re-manufacture costs.
It appears it is time to make sure that these parts on our cars are in the best state and well protected while we wait for re-supply, some will no doubt fall along the way.....

Don't forget they went bust! I also believe that there is no legal obligation to supply spares for any item after 7 years, that's from a company still trading.

That said, Fiacom is one of our suppliers and a possible lead for getting them in again. Our current stock of these arms came from them, but with production of the Chinese models ending we're finding a lot of the really useful bits are a pain to find. It also doesn't help that postage from China is prohibitively expensive unless you're talking several thousand pounds of stock, so the cost per item is brought down. We're doing all we can to keep stuff like this around, in the mean time clean those brushes off.

I have some amazing news - it looks like I can bring some in from SAIC after all.
I'll grab as many as I can... They're not going to be too cheap, but at the end of the day it's better than having none. In the mean time, keep painting...
