Default FS: Unique MG ZT-T/Rover 75 Development Car

Originally built in 2000 as a Rover 75 V6 Auto Tourer (Japanese Spec) - probably the earliest Tourer in existence and still on its SPL VIN. In 2004 ownership passed to MG Sport & Racing, who converted (externally) to MG spec and the car was used as a support vehicle for the MG sponsored Re-Cycling Team before being sold at the Receivers' auction as B4 MGX.

Very high spec including Full leather, electric memory/heated seats, electric sunroof, Harmon Hardon, Powerfolds, six airbags, etc. Overall mileage is 101500 (supported by full MOT history), but a new ZT 190 engine was fitted in 2009, some 10000 miles ago. Has just been serviced including auto fluid change. Will be sold with 5 months tax and new MOT.

£2595.

Please PM me if further info required.

Was built as a Rover 75 Tourer but converted to MG external spec in 2004. I guess there would be a few modifications to tell the insurance company about. Bodywork, paint, wheels etc.

Love the look of the car Tony and hopefully it will go to an enthusiast who will look after it for years to come.

I've driven it and seen it in the metal many times. Nice car, runs well and very distinctive.

Traction control works too.

Hello Steve, As Richard says this car was a prototype Rover 75 Tourer built to Japanese Spec with a 2.0 Litre V6 engine. I believe it to be the earliest Rover 75 Tourer in existence. The car remained owned by the Factory until the demise and the V5 still shows the car to be a Rover 2.0 V6 Auto. In 2004, MG Sport & Racing acquired the car and converted it externally to a ZT190, as they used it as a support car for the Works rally team and then the MG sponsored cycling team in 2005.

Clearly the car has been taxed, MOT'd and insured over the last ten years with no issues - indeed I have every MOT. My own insurance covers me for a range of cars, so it has not been any problem.

As for performance, it is quicker than a 190 manual!

Regards, Tony.

I remain in two minds about selling this, but have another project in mind so I'm open to persuasion.

This really is a very exceptional car.

Not only is it probably the earliest Tourer in existence but has a huge specification including traction control and Harman Kardon sound system.

The car has been fitted with (and retrofitted back to normal at some point) rear air suspension.

When considering this car imagine a top spec Conn.SE Tourer on the inside in Smokestone and Ash.

I have personally driven the car several hundred miles without problem and as I went all the way to West Yorkshire in it I'm surprised I never made it on to the "Was it you?" forum!

You can see it coming!

If anyone would like to view the car it is currently residing in Berkshire. Please call me on 07988756369
