Hi Scott.
Thank you for posting the photo's of the sills on your car, also the excellent work carried out by Tom on the repair, your car is the first one I have seen with the actual jacking point rotted out, you can only imagine if anyone with the same amount of corrosion in that area if they had to changed the wheel over only to find the jacking point give way. I think we all need to be very vigilant and pay attention to these sill jacking points on a monthly basis any signs of red rust lines get the sills checked out. Tom will most certainly be a busy guy over the coming months & years on our car I am sure of that, most certainly the place to get the work carried that's for sure too. cheers Arctic.

Steve
Only found out when I jacked it up to fix the heat shield, but on closer inspection there was red rust showing through the underseal, but I think buy the time you see that it's too late. This photo was taken after I had jacked the car up and the rust breaking through can be seen Sent from my SM-T530 using Tapatalk |

Hi Scott.
I had the same with my MGZT i checked the sills earlier in the year, then i found this below on both sides so yes i agree 100% once you see the tell tale rusty line marks, of bubbling of the sills protective coat then the sills will most likely need repair. 1 2 3

That's a quality repair, the man's an artist! Shame he's so far away from me if ever I needed his talents.
