Default Syphon Fuel

Appreciate some advice on the easiest way of draining the fuel tank on my CDTi. I have tried a simple syphon device without any success. So I assume there is an Anti Syphon device fitted.?

I am not suggesting that you do this, only offering the idea for comment...

Could the connection at the filter, under the bonnet not be disconnected and its output (with ignition on) be piped into a tank? In other words let the car pump its own fuel tank out.

Don't forget the tank has two main compartments, like two saddle-bags over a horse, so even if you syphoned the offside one dry the other nearside one would still be full.
You can easily do it by removing the rear seat cushion and opening the covers on each side to the pump and filter, then syphoning. See the threads for the orange clip.

When I mis fuelled my diesel the AA used the in tank pump to empty it. They applied 12v directly to it........and removed the pipe at the front.

The orange clip doesn't apply to diesel models.

No, but the threads about it explain how to open the top of the fuel tank.
