Default Tail light cluster ZTT.

190 ZTT just failed her MOT last Friday on front anti-roll bar bushes and rear indicator lights the wrong colour. I rebooked for today thinking I'd be sorted, but the garage hit a snag with getting off the rear tourer light clusters. So I took it back and found the two inner retaining screws just rotating. I managed to remove the nearside by accident 'cos it just popped out when I was examining it. Found both plastic lugs damaged and the previous mechanic had cleverly hooked the broken ends under the retaining screw heads which had kept the light cluster secure since last worked on. Unfortunately, this also allowed some water to leak from the tailgate gutter through the small gaps around the screws and into the carpet well on the interior, so I'd like to fix it properly. I popped off the interior trim to find no access to the rotating captive nuts from the inside. I'm guessing I may have to just grind the whole lot out to do it properly. Think I'll change the faded bulbs, hopefully claim the free MOT re-test tomorrow and then scour the forum later. Will have to post some pics from 'Tapatalk' since Windows seems to have stopped downloading my photos from iPhone.
