LOL It's gone! I've had enough of microsoft, There's only a certain amount of puter hassle I've got patience for I've tried everything on the microsoft troubleshooting page to no avail, Not just me having this latest 1903 feature/security update either. The desktop PC now runs like a champ on a SSD with Ubuntu Bionic Beaver OS now Hassle free OS. The Win 10 hard drive is relegated to the bottom of the wardrobe safe from me kicking it down the garden

Feature updates are biggies which require a complete reinstallation of the operating system. Issued twice yearly they are in effect a new version of the operating system, hence the need for a full reinstall. You can defer feature updates for up to 18 months if you have a pro version of W10, the hope in doing so being that any bugs will be sorted by the time you take the plunge. Best to do a full back before installling a feature update.
Not to be confused with the smaller and more regular quality/cumulative updates which tend to be issued monthly and cover general maintenance. |

Yeah this trouble has been going on since June, The Win 10 version was coming to the end of that 18 months timeline, It's got something to do with older Intel drivers but microsoft doesn't tell you witch ones I've deleted all the old update files and started again from scratch, the updates take two two hours only for it to fail at the last minute. My Win 7 desktop upgrade to Win 10 was the same, nothing but trouble and full of errors where programs wouldn't start, no audio and lots of dll errors!!! I binned that too, the hard drive was wiped & is now in my CCTV recorder. I'm not putting my bank/paypal details into any OS that's not supported.

Also, I've mentioned before that my neighbour's wife has dementia, sadly they are now looking for a vacancy in a local nursing home. Last edited by stevestrat; 17th August 2019 at 13:39.. |

I had a neighbour from across the road ask me to have a look on my CCTV recorder to see if it could identify a vehicle that crashed into a big cast iron street furniture planter pushing it into her car at 1:00am this morning
It's pushed all the rear quarter panel in I can make out a van at that time but no number plate or owt. It's like the 24 hour Le Mann race here throughout the night, you can hear the nut jobs racing each other til the early hours They crashed a car into a pub just down the road last week & ran off No police to do anything about traffic crime.

Evening all, been a nice day here for a change. Been into the town today for a thank you gift for our neighbours. who have been looking after the hens while we are away. Tide was in so we couldnt get on the beach, too windy anyway. I'm anning a couple of more days holiday during bank holiday week, so if we get any decent weather, we will head up to the Northumberland coast, my favourite part of the world.
