Default drivers cup holder

Went to the scrappy today for a couple of screws that I had dropeed down the rear of the dash the other day, come across a very early 75 with ALL the toys, was poking around it to discover it had a drivers side cup holder, to remove it I just gave it a gentle pull and out it come, when I try and house it back in place it goes in but doesnt seem to "click" into place, am I missing something ? Doesnt look as if if I have broken something !

cheers

The unit is locked in place by a plastic barb that should be released before pulling out all the gubbins. I guess you've bent the barb. It's on the left side slider of the body. The correct way to remove these is to first detatch the front panel and insert a thin screwdriver to release the barb.

if you have just bent the barb, get a heat gun and carefully heat it up without melting the platsic and bend it back into shape so it will catch when pushed in.

Think that's all I've done is bent it. Shouldn't have got so excited and yanked it out!
