Default Cdt fuel filter

I am going to service my car this weekend but noticed the new fuel filter has got a water drain on the bottom. Other ones I have used haven't had this.

Will this cause any issues of the fuel filter sitting up slightly higher?

From memory the clamp is at the top and there is some room below but that does look quite deep. If it is too deep you can always put the old one back.

From looking at the sizes, this one ive got with the drain on makes it 2-3cm longer. Hopefully should be fine. It does say on the box it is for Rover 75 cdt but not had one with the water valve on before.

My CDT had one with a drain fitted when i bought it. It does sit a bit higher but is no real problem. If needed, the metal stop at the bottom (where the filter rests) can be bent slightly to allow it to sit lower.
When i changed my filter, i couldn't get one with a drain so had to fit a standard Crosland one. Where did you get yours? I'd like one like that again.........

Thank you

I got it off eBay as part of a service kit.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291762899378

They also just sell the fuel filter separately

You cant see the drain in the photos, I think they unscrewed it to get it to stand upright like in the photos on ebay.

Thats an old rober 600, honda one. Mine on my old 220 always had these; with the honda part numbers..

every ZT 75 one Ive had has had BMW TD4 part numbers. Guaranteed this is an old honda crossmatch.

This particular filter is for the old Range Rover 2.5 diesel.

It is officially not compatible with the one on the 75. Clearly, it is not physically compatible. I would guess it is inlcuded in the service kit because of a significantly lower price.

I would return it and buy the proper OEM item or a compatible by Mahle etc.

OEM item

Mahle/Knetch

It is quite simple this is the WRONG filter, firstly it will not fit in the holder and you will end up damaging the sensor at the top and or the bonnet, and if you manage to fit it the chances are the tap will start to leak diesel all over the road. send it back and get a replacement without tap, don't let anyone tell you that the tap one is the right one it is not.
