Eka
Following a slight problem with my 800.
I have just read Grey Ghost's post above on keys. My question is, before I need to find out the hard way:- Does a 75 require an Emergency Key Access Code for use in the event of failure of the remote? I do have 2 keys for my 75.

Good question? No EKA that can disable via the door lock. The other MGR products had the 5AS system or the later SCU and so are different to the EWS system we have.

No there is no EKA (Emergency Key Access). This was designed for when the battery in the remote goes flat, as in the older systems like on Rover 200 and 400 (known as 5AS because that's what the manufacturer called them). The EWS (Elektronik WegfahrSperre) or immobilser uses a system that talks to the transponder in the key without using a battery at all, so the battery being flat doesn't stop it working.
I assume SCU is security control unit, and I hope MGR is obvious. |
