Grand Prix in Portugal
Lewis Hamilton becomes the driver with the most wins, 92. Well done to him, nice track, some entertaining incidents.

He cant be that bad but compared to some of those that have gone before him,
I just don't think he is as good but then you cant win 92 races and be bad. He is just to pretty for me, I just don't take a shine to him. Anyway, congratulations to him and the team macafee2 |

He can do no more than what he has done. Regardless of how you or I may or may not like his persona, he has proved that in his time he is the best of the best

I wonder how many Schumacher would have won but for his accident?

IIRC, he could have won at least one more if he hadn’t taken himself out when he shunted another car off the track, to sew up the WDC, Why not ask how many Senna could have won if he hadn’t died? We can speculate - how many would Bottas be winning if he had a different teammate? Can’t we just acknowledge Hamilton’s achievements? A quote......’no prophet is accepted in his home town....’

There's no doubt about LH's driving ability, nay, supreme skill, on the track. Helped by a superb car and the backing of seemingly unlimited funds for the Mercedes team, his success is tremendous. His boss says, jokingly of course, they might have to sell the factory to keep him. To win that race by a margin of 25 seconds after falling to 3rd early on is exceptional by any standards.
However, the continued use of the event to publicise and further his immature political objectives is embarrassing and rather stupidly exposes him to public ridicule. It's a shame, and unnecessary in that he is mistaken in his belief that the underlying aims are the same as his own.

Do you feel all of the following athletes and teams also have immature objectives and are ridiculed by the public. Maybe it's not them that needs to reconsider their attitude! https://edition.cnn.com/2020/08/27/w...sts/index.html https://www.theguardian.com/sport/ga...matter-protest

No, of course I don't and I suspect you ask the question just a bit tongue in cheek! It's impossible to go into detail given the banned subject! Your question gives the clue. There has been acres of evidence that a noble title has been given to a subversive core movement and there is plenty of that evidence available. Do you feel the rest of the assembled drivers (and their teams) are entirely and genuinely supportive of the underlying movement (rather than the genuinely felt sympathy)? It might offend sensibilities but it has deeper connotations and origins with the underlying and secretive movement's (their individual identities never revealed) intentions given sparse publicity. In other words, a worthy cause has been intentionally mounted with an honourable title and the gullible have been herded on the back of concerted public pressure. I'd rather discuss the F1/Hamilton criticism which I happen to think is unfounded - quite evident in the earlier post I made! HTH.

Michael had retired from the sport the year before he had his skiing accident.

He also broke his leg at Silverstone, of course, but he only missed a few races
