Good morning all,

Good morning Jeff

Thanks for linking the “thanks” feature in your camera forum to Pete. When I clicked on the link, all I could see was the “like” button and could not see any “thanks” button but I was not logged into your camera forum. Would a screenshot illustrate what you see.

Yesterday was my first day back behind the wheel in 6 months because I am no longer taking opiate pain medication, another improvement. I know people have to drive whilst taking opiates but it’s not for me. I found the opiates made me feel drowsy, constipated and lifted my mood, so it’s easy to see how people can get hooked.

It’s a relief I am completely off them

A nice photo Jeff, looking relaxed and not a care in the world.

How is your Nan?

Morning Phil,

The 'like' button is their equivalent of a 'thanks' button. It allows you to respond to a post so the OP can see that it has been acknowledged without having to reply to the post. Same function (of sorts) but different name.
On their forum if someone uses the 'like' button on your post you will get a notification to inform you of that as well

Not looking good for Nan I'm afraid.
She was discharged from the Hospital back into the care home.
She has been put on a syringe driver for morphine and she is not eating or drinking. End of life care being implemented I think.
At least she should be free of pain.

Mum is going to visit this morning where we should know more. I will keep you all informed.

It's rather wet and windy here this morning. Not a day to be venturing out me thinks!

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

Cool

Morning everyone from rained out wind howling Cornwall.

Along with my neighbour whom seems to only like playing her music very loud in the early hours, and not for the first time either.

Thanks Ian,

Still no updates although my Mum has her phone sent to 'notifications silenced' so I presume she is with Nan at the moment.

Did you get Stu’s phone number? I saw you were asking after it.

During the height of the pandemic, I was asked to go back to work in the NHS to retrain and work in the front line, but I wasn’t up to it. I don’t miss working in the NHS or doing the air ambulance MediVacs. Fortunately I am rarely bored and these days photography keeps me out of trouble.

As you know, it’s been 3 months since my big operation and I still have to be careful with what I can and can’t do. Recently my appetite returned and it’s a great feeling being able to eat again. My weight had dropped from 103KG to 73KG but since stuffing myself with chocolates, crisps etc it’s going back on.

I have another operation planned to repair an aneurysm in the right knee sometime in May or June. Hopefully that will be the last op.

To look at me now, I am a picture of rude health, I look great!

My relatives here wanted me to go bungee jumping with them off a bridge over a ravine as they are daring and sporty, but I gave them a “no thanks”…… they hate boredom and are always looking for a buzz…..

Boredom? I know the retirees on the forum have their own plans for not getting bored. Some play bowls, go fishing but I do know someone who likes to play with his cabin cruiser in his spare time. We are lucky to have some great cooks and gardeners on the forum.

Are you a gardener?
What other interests do you have to keep you going?

I am just getting up, open up the house, have breakfast and get on with the day
Afternoon Phil, I think I still have Stu’s number on my phone, and gardener is not something I’m interested at, I don’t mind cutting the grass and the hedges, but that’s about all I’m I interested at the minute.
