Do you know about cabinets?
We were given a display cabinet many years ago and have always been tempted to get rid of it.
The wood is solid - no MDF or chipboard. I reckon it would have been made around the 30s or 40s. Anyone know how much it's worth - if anything?

It's lovely. Probably Edwardian (1901-1910), unfussy as opposed to the Victorian examples. Later styles approaching and including Art Deco realise better prices. Brown wood so not exactly fashionable, which affects value, but quality manufacture from good materials - could be S. American mahogany, can't tell from photo. Value depends hugely on selling venue but a trader (think used car salesman!) about £60/80. Look for examples ('domestic display cabinets') on Ebay/Gumtree.

It is a Queen Ann bow front/China or curio display cabinet with ball and claw feet, made from Mahogany. The ones with a higher, veneered or marquetry strip around the top are worth slightly more. Probable worth around £150 depending on the makers plate, if it has one at all.

He is still a member but it’s been ages since he posted anything up. He is an auctioneer with expertise for antiques. I have been to his house and have his contact details if needed.
