I was chatting with a banned trader who showed me his workshop in Bexhill-On-Sea a while back. Around the back of the garage stacked up were Rover 75s belonging to customers who had the work done but couldn’t afford to pay him what he was owed. One of those a 75 in Moonstone came in with no belts changed, no coolant and the oil down to the minimum. Same thing, the customer did not pay his bill, so the car was seized. The 75’s are so cheap some run them into the ground instead of forking out on expensive garage repairs.

Last year the timing belt was changed on my 75 for the second time in 20 years. It was not straightforward and was a financial disaster, but the car was saved with a low mileage replacement engine .....The mechanic saved me from having to scrap the car or break it. He did a great job and the car was beautiful to drive after, happy days
