Any news of Steve Strat?

I read your comments about me leading an eventful life, thank you Rod. I will add, I have led an interesting life and I continue to lead an interesting life

How did you get on with formatting the memory card for your new camera?

I had a bit of a disaster in trying to read a new Micro SD Toshiba 64Gb card. A message flashed up on my MacBook Pro how the card was not compatible, even though it had been formatted. It was a Christmas present and on reading up about the card, it said it’s for Android. I had formatted it in the dash cam and that was ok, but when it came for playback on the MacBook Pro.... it was a no go.

Have a fabulous lunch on Sunday with the family and a
most excellent birthday tomorrow, lots of treats
Thanks Phil - I will certainly enjoy Sunday, with a touch of regret as it was a year ago yesterday that I lost my sister - where do the years go?
The SD card formatted fine - I stuck to a 32gb one as even in RAW mode its got stacks of capacity, especially as I transfer the files to my laptop on a very regular basis. At the moment, I'm just experimenting with raw format, using Photoshop and Canon's own software for processing. Lightroom seems to be available only on a subscription basis now, can't find any for sale, even on the bay.

Hi Rod, I am sure it’s all going to come together for you with the post editing. Several years ago, I bought a stand-alone Adobe Lightroom no 4 with a full licence and I still use it for adding the final touches and for copyrighting my photos. I think Jeff has a 6 which was the last version released as a stand-alone. Adobe CC monthly is useful and it’s always being updated. I don’t use it. What I use is a stand-alone software called Luminar made by Skylum for Windows/Mac. No monthly subscription, I own it outright, but whatever works for you is the main thing.

We heard on the World service this morning on the radio, how a plague of Locusts is sweeping across the country destroying the crops and an appeal has gone out to the experts around the world to help stop the plague. The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport staff started screening passengers arriving 2 days ago from China for the C.virus as there are 3 flights a week coming in. During the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, all flights from there were banned coming into Kenya in an attempt to stop the Ebola Virus from getting in.

This afternoon, we are going out to stock up on provisions for the long term in case the C. virus and the plague of Locusts leads to shortages. It’s going to be harder for those in poverty.

Afternoon all, sound like some potentially tough times heading your way Phil, take it steady and battle through mate, hopefully it won’t be as bad as the media is making out (Taking the heat of an impeachment trial methinks)

Just had the dogs to the park for a walk, Tis turning nippy again now.

Evening all, it's been a damp dank drizzly day here, so the gloomy I haven't switched the house lights off since first thing this morning.

Roast chicken thighs with sliced spuds/carrots & cabbage in a herby gravy Very nice it was too, fridge freshly stocked with cold Henry's so I shall be partaking in a swilly or two tonight.

Just finishing off some train driving on the Deutsche Bahn
