That does look nice, then I am probably biased as I own a Firefrost as well. I like the colour coded dash so thinking about getting a spare and getting it painted - would it be best to get it painted by a bodyshop or would spray cans give a good finish?

getting it done at a body shop would probably give it a better finish, as they'd most likely use a much better quality lacquer. However I've sprayed bits like sideskirts myself before and achieved a very good clean glossy finish. I plan to redo the dash panels in red on this car at some point using a real wood dash.

I have done bits like an MGF hardtop, mirrors and splitters using a base coat/clear coat rattle can system and the smaller bits turned out great.
It was tough getting a good finish on the large area of the hardtop but something like a dash should be straightforward. I used an epoxy clearcoat and the finish is very durable.

Another little job done on Redfive today. The lacquer along the top of the rear bumper was pealing, all sorted today

Hmm... So what's the process for sorting the lacquer peel? I guess it is too scary for the likes of I!

All I done was chip off any lacquer that was already lifting or pealing, and then carefully flattened it back to smooth it out. Usually at this point you need to then apply lacquer over the paint again but this bumper has been sprayed before and been done very oddly and poorly. Although the lacquer was peeling there still seem to be another layer of lacquer under it as I wasn't sanding into the colour coat and the finish is still shiny after polishing.

The bumper although has a nice finish on the respray had been prepped poorly for painting. When I was drilling the holes for the parking sensors the new paint was chipping off and the old factory paint was still shiny under neath! Like as if it hadn't been rubbed back at all prior to painting.

Thanks for the info on the peel. Maybe one day I will man-up and try similar on mine! Looking nice inside there too...
