Default Anyone had a rear wing fixed?

Hi all, I haven’t got any photos at the moment, forgot to take any earlier. A couple of weeks ago someone decided they wanted to be in the lane I was already in, and dented and scratched the rear door, the wing, pushing it in above the wheel, and a small scrape on the rear bumper.

I’ve sourced a replacement door in the right colour, for £20, complete with glass and door card. The rear bumper shouldn’t be too bad to get it sprayed, it had some other damage anyway.

However, the wing has been dented and creased, cracking the paint and there is now a small patch of bare metal is showing. I’d like to get it sort ASAP before it has a chance to start rusting, but after Christmas funds are non-existent so I’ll have to cover it over with some paint for now. But has anyone else had similar damage sorted? Did they manage to push it back out, or does it involve having the section cut out and a new section welded in?

I’ll get some photos tomorrow.

I have had similar damage to a rear wing . Looked bad at the time ! It was successfully pushed / pulled back out and resprayed , and you would never know it had been there
I suspect a smear of filler may have been needed at the end

Thanks, sounds promising, I don’t suppose you remember roughly how much it cost? I’ve got some photos I’ll try and put up later, but can’t use my laptop at the moment and can’t remember how to do them from my phone.

*edit* Hmm I can upload on the app on my phone, but I can’t resize them.

It was £160 , but that was a bit of a mates-rate for cash at Xmas time
The dent on the wing was a bit deeper than yours , I would say .

That was a mates rate job at that price, The materials would have cost half of that. I would have thought that a decent body shop would charge you about £300 to £400 for that. Had you thought about this lot ?https://www.chipsaway.co.uk/local-car-body-repairs/east-midlands/corby/

I paid £600 to have a rear quarter repaired , this included welding up a lpg filler hole and sorting out some rust, they also sprayed along the roof line and down the A pillar so the paint would be a nice match.

No, not looked at any body shops yet. Won’t have the money for it for a while, hard to justify money on cosmetics at the moment. Thanks for the rough ideas on cost, at least I know roughly how much I need to save up now, if the MoT doesn’t cost too much I might be able to get it sorted in the summer

Not really worth going through insurance, it'd get written off, increased premiums, hassle etc.

From my wife experience with insurance companies, its not worth the hassle.
