1.8 K Series Headgasket how to?
Had a good scroll through the how-to threads and couldnt find anything for headgaskets? I have done quite a few, but not a K series (believe it or not). So wanted something a bit more specific to that engine to take a few tips and things to look for. Has anyone done one and I just cant find it?
If there isnt I will attempt to do one. |

There are plenty of threads on here, they may just take some finding!
They are the same as any other head gasket to replace, the main thing is the liner heights, you have to be uber critical when measuring them.

Thanks, I'll have a scroll through and try and find one. I had a 214 years ago I stripped for the head gasket and the liners had dropped so it never got rebuilt.
Am I right in thinking you cant move the crank once the cylinder head bolts have been removed? |

I am going to read whatever I can before I strip it down. Just so I am 100%, hopefully try and make it as future proof as possible. Sent from my MAX 2 using Tapatalk |

Pull it apart and evaluate the options, chances are the liners will be good for an elastomer gasket, so box it all up and enjoy the ride.
