Question Front damper assembly version question

Hi:

I would like to know the opinion if it is possible to mount the indicated front shock absorbers for a 1.8 to my Rover 2.5 V6. I have seen that the difference in weight between the two is about 30 kg per front axle.

The reference I am seeing in Rimmers bros is as follows:

It can be fitted to 1.8 Litre Rover 75 as a standard replacement or to 1.8 MG ZT as a soft ride option.

RND105321ASSY
RND105331ASSY

I appreciate any comments on that.

Kind regards
Joel Antonio

Unfortunately RND105321ASSY and RND105331ASSY will sit quite high, as per the Rover 75.
RND001000ASSY and RND001010ASSY are the MG ZT versions for the 1.8.

Personally I would say they'll sit too high for a ZT.

How'do Joel

when you say 30kg per front axle - do you mean 30kg per side ? - i.e a 60kg difference between 1.8 and 2.5 Engines.

i'd think this is quite a substantial difference and fitting assemblies for a 1.8 to a 2.5 would have a noticeable affect on the handling/balance of the Car - it's going to sit a fair bit lower at the front.

it could end up a bit bouncy due to the extra weight vs Spring Rate and insufficient Rebound Damping

I'd be happier with decent "Suitable" aftermarket parts - if possible

Paul.
