Am I right in thinking that Hodgson's contract is almost up where as Redknapps isn't? By appointing Hodgson there will be no huge contract buy out and be the cheaper option? Or am I far to cynical Good luck to him anyway!

You are exactly right Mark and the very same assessment was put to the FA representative at the press conference of Hodgsons appointment today along with the suggestion that the the FA were now skint after paying off Capello. He denied that finance had played any part in appointing Hodgson. It's estimated that the compo for Harry would have been 10M.

I listened to the full press conferance and frankly bernstein came across as a stuffed shirt and belongs in his rotary club with a gin n tonic instead of running a football association .

Hiya. I think He is the right man for the job personally... He has a fantastic footballing brain and has done wonders with Albion....The only thing that I do not like about this appointment is that W.B.A have said that they are interested in our manager.....Disgraceful disclosure when we are just about to enter the p,lay off's...... They already have a world class keeper who is still, (at the moment, but not for too long i fear) a B.C.F.C player...... What more do they want from us.... Neighbours? Yeah.... right.....

i think it's a good choice. I think the main problem is the players. We've had some good managers yet they've all come unstuck on the england job. What are the chances eh? As to harry i never thought much of him he did ok at west ham and ok in bits at spurs but not much else. Look at saga on the south coast err which team should i manage? Lol. His various ehm dealings won't stand up well long term. The press will be all over him when they start to lose. He's too many skeletons in the cupboard. Hodgson has plenty of experience especially at international level. I'm sure he'll do fine.
