I only ever use cruise when going through the Average speed limit sections on various roads/m/ways.

Too much traffic to be used locally, plus I rather like to be in control of my cars speed..

Personally I think cruise should be banned, it encourages people to pay less attention to driving their car... innit..

Same with air bags, cars should have six inch spikes welded to the center of the steering wheels, and seat belts should be elastic. Then people would be more attentive and carefull when driving!!. IMHO..

That's only because the oldest boy racer in town can't set his cruise at 150MPH though Bob

Default Cruise minimum speed query

I thought that cruise control only worked from over 30mph, is this then a myth - otherwise how could you use cruise to help keep speed within a 30mph limit?

I too use my cruise a lot, I find though putting the auto box into sport mode makes the car drive a lot smoother at 30-40 mph, not sure why, possibly the EGR is dirty and in normal drive mode the engine feels a bit jerky when loaded but sport pops the gears up down quicker at different revs and the whole car drives well on cruise.
Once on the M/way switch it back to drive as it won't lock up in top until your past 60 mph in sport mode.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
