I had a dodgy crank sensor due to heat from turbo manifold... Had not failed yet but It didnt look good. What was the reason for your last replacement?

Faulty crank sensor for sure - starter motor ok - fuel pump ok - battery ok - no movement on the speedometer or any RPM. Also RAC man took sensor out and freeze sprayed it - put it back in and the car started - then stalled. Awaiting replacement from Rimmers.

Precautionary - had the car 5 and half years - so swopped out the crank sensor, cam sensor and coolant sensor - so the old adage applies - if its not broken leave well alone

Martin, before you go any further, I suggest the wiring to the CKP is checked without delay.
The turbo models have a propensity to cook the wiring inside the heat resistant sheath where the wiring passes adjacent to the turbocharger. If left unchecked, this will destroy the ECM. Brian |

Thanks Brian - Andy advised me of this when fitting the crank sensor - the protective sheath looked sound - i did source some additional heat resistant sheath so may fit this as a precaution.
