Default 17" Starspokes (as a spare wheel)
I have four 17 inch Starspokes from another Rover 75. The alloys are best described as acceptable and the tyres as instantly replaceable. I'm thinking of keeping one as a spare for my v8. Anythreebody interested in exchanging a modest sum of cash for one of the others each? £50 per wheel seems to be the going rate, delivery to be negotiated.
No idea why it says default in the title, view as though it's not there please. Last edited by oldie; 2nd August 2018 at 10:44.. |

I do not think 17 wheels will fit over the brake disc or calipers, even some 18s do not fit

17 inch Starspokes were a factory fitted option and found on many v8s, particularly the Rover v8. I have them on mine. I can't vouch for every variant but I think the disc/caliper set-up is standard to most 260/v8s. As an original option one being used as a spare should be ok.

That is indeed corredt for Rover V8's. Star Spokes were standard, with 18 inch Vortex's as an option. There is a subtle difference however between the standard Star Spoke fitted to non-V8 Contemporary/Contemporary SE cars and the V8 versions. The latter were diamond-turned and lacquered in original form, whereas the other cars were merey silver painted. Makes no practical difference to the use of the wheels, but it's just another 'anorak' fact! .
