First Diesel Engined Car
Tomorrow, I'm collecting my 2 litre diesel CDT Auto . New territory for me, always had petrol cars.
Apart from the obvious such as belts, are there any other specifics I should be paying attention to regarding the engine ? Any help/advice from the wealth of knowledge and experience of fellow members would be very helpful. The engine is on 83k Thanks guys |

The auxiliary belt is good for 90K, A/C belt about 70K, I tend to do both together. There are no timing belts to worry about, the engine has timing chains, more important than most things is to make sure the PCV filter is sound. As I say, I don't mind checking it out for you though, I've seen enough of these to know what's good, and what's bad Brian |

Mine has done ~80k miles and never missed a beat. Mind you I only cover low mileages but have found it to be refined and smooth. Economy is good too.
I'm investigating either remap or Ron box as it's underpowered in my view. Finally if it's got a Webasto fuel burning heater it's well worth getting it fixed if it's faulty. It warmed the car up very quickly in the winter. Hope you enjoy your new car. Jim |

Go for a remap and have the belts done at the same time , they'll give you peace of mind

Your car
I bought my Connie se cdti 6 weeks ago with 69000 miles, it's also my very first diesel. So far its going beautifully. I am wondering if I should have the gear box fluid changed, is an auto box.
