Diesel remap...
What's the infi on remaking a diesel these days? Previously I had the marinabrian 160 map and was very happy with that.
Car m various Facebook groups have said this map never made anywhere near 160 and force tubing will do a much better job... I don't know who to believe?! What's the best ofmut there these days? I want to maintain longevity. Sent from my KB2003 using Tapatalk |

Who cares if it doesn't make a full 160, it drives nicer with it. That's the main thing, you're driving an old car, that was never built to win races anyway.
If you want fast, buy something else lol

Having worked on and driven cars with both the 160 map and the force tuning treatment,
in my opinion the 160 is far superior, much more refined and clearly well developed. The cars I have experienced with the force treatment were Smokey, overfueling and in my opinion rather clumsy.

PhilT4 did mine on my first ever meet and it transformed the car. I can hold my own with most others on the road and when I say go, it goes.

Why does a remap post always kick off the same issues? Any remap will help your car if the other items are all in good working order, i.e o’rings, egr, manifold etc…..
So any map can be Smokey if you have not sorted the rest of your car. I personally purchased my car already mapped, then had a custom map by Jamie (Trader on here) and with his map you could feel the extra power, no smoke etc but I have a egr bypass, clean manifold (Thanks Arctic) and with the map have more power and the car is very responsive. I then had a manual boost control fitted by Force tunning and this gave the car much better boost at lower revs and the car really takes off, No smoke or issues and that’s after it was fitted over 1 year ago, its passed MOT’s etc. I have had a few maps on my car and some give better performance than others, but its all down to personal choice, cost and what you want to achieve at the end of the day and how well maintained your car is to start with. Default 160 map is good and gives extra power Custom maps give better power as custom to your car i.e. with or without MAF, set levels of fuelling to set the power bands you want etc. Boost controllers to give it that extra little kick. So to finish my post:- No Map is a bad map if its applied to a car that’s already been prepared correctly for it. |
