Default Anyone after a personalised 75 plate.

I found this registration for sale in the DVLA site, thought it might interest a 75 owner.

A17 FVE which could be translated to A1 75.

Very loosely translated IMO. I'd never have considered that combination to represent A1 75 in a month of Sundays.

Personal plates are great if they mean something in their correct format, perhaps specific to either the car or its owner. But I see so many cars out there with 'personal' plates that have retaining screws fitted in odd places and illegally messed up spacing to try and make them display various words. In 99% of cases you need a degree in cryptography to figure out what they're supposed to say and only the owner actually knows for certain. If that's their ego trip then fair enough, although personally I think they should be displaying D1 KED.

There are plenty of registrations on the DVLA site with the combination of R40 *** and R40 is the platform designation for the 75/ZT (I'm sure I read somewhere that the tourer version is R41, but that isn't available). I think that if you combine R40 with initials - or even paint code - it would be a far more suitable personal plate.

I wouldn't buy a car specific private plate, I have PM04ORD which is for Paul M Ford, but I don't illegally space it so it just looks like a normal plate on a car but those that know me and my family know what it means. It also has a sentimental value to me, my dad has J22 NJF which is for his birthday and initials.

Haha, it's sorted for now at least.

The DVLA have been informed.
The Police set up an ANPR watch for the number plate.
The parking charge has also been dropped.

Happy enough with that.
