If, and it's a very big if, MG launches some new metal next year, I'll have one, be it an MG6 or MG7. My ZT is going next year, I'd like another MG to replace it.

Even if there is old metal in the new car, this will not really effect sales, quality always comes through. Most successful designs have a pedigree and a link to earlier designs. TR's sold by the thousands and the TR2/TR3 could be linked to the TR4 and the TR4 to the TR5 and TR6, went wrong somewhere with the TR7, got it back a bit too late with the TR8.
Hope the MG7 re-ignites the Rover pedigree....... |

I spoke to a chap at the weekend who has a contract to clear Longbridge. he said he was even clearing the MG TF production line out. He also saw 'sales stats' for the LE500 and he said as of last week only 263 of the 500 cars had been sold and since it was launched nearly 1 year ago that is not good news at all. So I think if MG do make or import the 7 theyNeed to market the car better. IMHO.

Unfortunately a car that didn't sell well enough to make a profit when it was new is unlikely to do so when its a decade old. I think it would be commercial suicide for SIAC/NAC to relaunch the car. However, IMHO, the 75/ZT has a timeless shape and still cuts the mustard when compared to more modern bland motors.

But Rover MG needed to sell 100's of thousands, MG maybe are not that ambitious perhaps they want to establish a customer base, they may want to push the new MG6 model. A niche market could sell a couple of thousand at the right price.

it would be a big mistake bringing the mg7 here ,negative prees etc
i am worried about mg motors ,they were supposed to have a stand at mg live! (the biggest mg show in the uk ,potential customers etc,) they pulled the plug at the last minute apparantly with no explanation.!!! |

any one got a picture of the MG6 motor car? ive seen the mg7 but wheres this MG6 model.
And if they are clearing the MGTF line out of Longbridge ,that could be the end of production at Longbridge and it becomes a techno site only that is a shame. |
