Andy that’s shocking news. Did you see that another treatment is Vodka, which changes the anti-freeze in the body and turns it into less harmful enzymes on the vital organs, depends on the cats liver and kidney function results and how early the vet starts treatment. What a twisted and heartless act of cruelty. I sincerely hope your cat makes a complete recovery, he is in our prayers.

Sorry to hear of your pets problems , but there are many other reports of animals drinking antifreeze . Is it possible that people are putting antifreeze in the water to stop it freezing ? So the pets have some liquid to drink ? It may not be deliberate wrongdoing just terrible ignorance .

Not exactly, ethanol is metabolised preferentially to the ethylene glycol (antifreeze), giving the kidneys time to get the antifreeze out of the body.

It's not antifreeze itself that is toxic per-se, it's the metabolic products (glycolic and oxalic acids) that are nasty.

Oh believe me this was no accident n if we find out who then there will be trouble
As for Tommy hes not doin too good and im sorry to say that i will be taking him to the vets tomorrow we cant let him suffer its not fair on him or us,and yes its goin to be NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- hard
