In my truck driving days, when I used to do a European trip (France/Belgium/Holland/Germany) every week, I recall seeing one of these before they were launched

Got on the ferry at Zeebrugge to come home, and was last but one vehicle to get on. The final one was a Vauxhall Carlton driven by a chap in shirt and tie, who got out carrying a very secure looking metal briefcase. There was a whisper going around the deckhands and the last few truck drivers still around, and we all had a look through the windows of the Carlton - the dash was literally like something from the USS Enterprise! Turned out that the techy looking chap who was driving was also a Lotus test driver and had been doing some high speed testing on the German autobahns!
