Plug in the connector when the car is not running then switch the ignition onto position 1.
the car will not communicate over odb2 until the car is at least in ignition position 1. It's better when the car is running. all Rover 75 petrol models will have some ODB2 settings available. Only post 2002 cars have all the values available.

What would you use to connect a Year 2000 Rover 75 2L V6 petrol for a full diagnostic check if not all settings work on a OBD 2 scanning tool? I thought of buying the TOAD PC software and a USB to OBD cable but don't want to invest if it won't work
I have a standalone OBD tool and it scanned OK with no faults Steve - Any thoughts on this fleabay item?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Di...item2a2ae88b8a Last edited by Ragnarok; 21st May 2013 at 22:16.. Reason: fleas |

oh I see LOL
The car works fine so I think I'll stop worrying about all this diagnostics. No need to spend 3 grand for a 450 quid car |

Mine does not work either! 52 plate 1.8 auto. Works on T4 fine as both Brian and Gary will testify however no joy on my laptop OBD2, my mechanics handheld codereader or the local garages. Guess for some reason we are unlucky mate. For some reason it just does not work! Annoying to say the least. Chris |
